Guilden Sutton Players are very excited to be the first amateur group in the whole wide world to be performing “The Flint Street Nativity” by local author Tim Firth (Calendar Girls, Neville’s Island, Preston Front).

Director, Gail Young, says, “It’s really great for us to have been so quick off the mark and to have got hold of the performing rights. We’ll be staging the world amateur première!”

Tim Firth is unfortunately unable to attend, but he has threatened the group with sending his “spies”. Via his website, he wished the group good luck, saying, “May your donkey always collapse and your wings always illuminate!”

You will have to come and see the production to understand the full significance of this comment!

The group have faced many challenges during the rehearsal period, but guarantee you all a marvellous evening’s entertainment that will leave you full of festive spirit!

The stage version was adapted from a play for television and developed and professionally performed to much critical acclaim by the Liverpool Everyman & Liverpool Playhouse.

“Mizzis Horrocks’” class of seven year olds are preparing for their nativity play for their proud mums and dads – and the occasional social worker. The children are played by adults, who later play their parents…
